The county town of the East Riding of Yorkshire, Beverley’s illustrious history stretches back over 1,300 years. Noted for the architecturally distinctive Beverley Minster and Beverley Racecourse, the town is also home to the oldest grammer school in the country – founded in by St. John of Beverley in 700AD. Long an important centre for trade – particularly wool, Beverley was once the 10th largest town in England. Today, with its markets, music and food festivals, Beverley is a wonderful town (it was recently named as the best place to live in the UK) – a must see for any visitor to Yorkshire.

Our beautiful Steamer Trading shop is a Grade II-listed building right in the centre of Toll Gavel (linking the Saturday and Wednesday markets, the street derives its name from the tolls charged to the stall holders). We opened our doors in 2011 (our first shop in Yorkshire) and our lovely team having been serving up traditional cheerful hospitality ever since – you’ll be certain of a warm welcome (and they’ll even make you an espresso if you linger by the coffee makers!).

As one of our larger shops, we’ve filled our store with everything your kitchen could wish for – from colourful food mixers to the finest Japanese knives or French copper pans. We’ve got a lovely selection of tableware and every baking implement or kitchen tool you could imagine. Or just come in for some advice – we’ve got working ovens, induction hobs, coffee machines and knife sharpeners – so there’s plenty to be shown.
